I saw on a other thread where some one did this i dont like my top brace on my 75 gallon. I was thinking of cutting it off and leaving it off then i heard about euro bracing. I would like to do something different with mine i dont have glass tops and the brace is 3 inches wide and is turning white from my light its not from the salt i washed it off its turning white. Do any of you think this is a bad idea or have any of you tried this and if so what do you think of your tank since you did any help or suggestions would be appreicated.

No one else huh well i think i will do the acrylic thing and cut mine out and replace it with a piece of acrylic atleast that way i can get the light to hit the dark spot and ill beable to rid my self of the white spot on my brown frame. I have had the tank for 4 years with pc on it and i guess im lucky its not completely white by now. Im pretty good at melting pcv to acrylic from other projects so im thinking about melting the acrylic to the frame i can make very good lines ill let you guys know how it comes out the trick to melting it right is a good sodering iron.

I wouldnt remove the brace on a full tank. I also would not melt the the frame to the acrylic. If you want to Eurobrace I would get glass the same thickness as the tank but in 2.5 inch wide strpis cut to fit silicone them in place on a dry tank and then remove the center brace. Then cure it and fill and go

When i say im melting it i mean it will be flawless and look like it came that way i have done this many times i fix cell phones and remotes and every thing i ever have that breaks this way but i have thought about it and since im selling corals to the pet store close to me now ill just use the credit to buy a 90 gallon and euro brace the new one i want to sell the old one so i need to leave it alone. But if any one has any more euro bracing threads i would love to see them since in a week or 2 ill be getting my new tank.

FYI, I took a jig saw to the plastic piece, cut it in two places, replaced it with a piece of acrylic. No problems.
