removing nudi's and eggs

i bought some zoa frags that ended up having nudibranchs on them.. i dipped them in RO with lugals and flatworm exit.. i apeared to kill the adults but what about the eggs?? i picked off a few egg sacks but chances are i didn't get them all..do i just sit and wait for them to hatch and periodically redip them???? how often can you safely redip zoas???

from what i have read, it sounds like you need to pull every one off the colony. if you dont then you will get new nudibranchs and more eggs.

i removed all i could see.... but i'm sure there are more, at least eggs... do i just wait until the eggs hatch and pic off the nudi's or is there a way to get rid of the eggs?????

seafan79, the best way that I have found to remove the egg sacks, is to hold the zoo colony up to your actinic lights just after a dip. The blue spectrum with illuminate the string curly string ( egg sacks). Then use a dedicated set of tweezers and remove them. They are very stciky and they will adhere to the underside of the polyp. Just scrap them away and you'll be fine.

Be sure to scan each colony at least twice before replacing it in your tank. Look down between each polyp to search for those sacks.

thanks Mucho, i'll try that.. if i isolate the frags from the rest of the tank, like on a suspended frag rack, can i have keep them in the main tank?? or should i put them in QT??
if i put them in QT what is the least amount of lighting i would need on a 10gal tank??

I would keep them out of your tank till your sure the nudi's are gone. At least a month. If they get in your display it will be a lot harder to get rid of them.
