Removing red slime remover

Hi,

I successfully treated the tank with chemiclean red slime remover. How do I now remove it from my tank? I can't get the skimmer turned on without it overflowing.

I did a 20% water change and restored my carbon.

Thank you,

It's going to be like this for a while. Run carbon, do a 30% water change, or a 10%, 10%, 20% a day apart. And just prepare for a lot of foam. Be aware your skimmer is a major source of tank oxygen.

Leave the cup off & run it that way for a week when using chemiclean, helps with oxygenation & helps when putting the cup back on.
I have to really cut the air down when I go to start skimmer cup up again.

Skim it out. Using the skimmer to do the water change it takes about 2 gallons of skimmate in my 75 gallon tank. Open it fully and restrict the air slightly. Back to normal in about 2-3hrs. It's helpful if your skimmer cup has a drain where you can drain to a bucket.

Dilution is the solution to pollution.
Start skimming after several more larger WCs.
You can leave skimmer cup off, a sudsy sump wont hurt anything.
