Retrieving fish from overflow column

Hello,

What is the "easiest" way to retrieve fish from overflow columns? I know, I know ... I have a lid but apparently not good enough.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Don

Usually try displacement. If you have filter floss, or anything you can put back there, that will usually do the trick. What kind of fish is back there?

I've only got them out a couple of times, they usually jump back over the overflow in my experience. If I couldn't get one and it didn't jump back, I would probably pull the pipe out. That would make the overflow drain to the bottom. Either it would end up in your sump or the bottom of the overflow and it's so shallow it would be easy.

I always pull the drain pipe and hope they take the ride to the sump. This is why I never glue in drain pipes.

My flame Wrasse seems to do this weekly.
