I am almost finished running the plumbing in my pump and was wondering if I need a clamp to connect the hose to the return pump. would a stainless steel one work? I know it is bad to introduce metal to the tank. What do you use if anything.
If its a submersible pump - not a chance. I have seen them used externally, just keep an eye on them for corrosion & double up with clamps. Not the best choice but can work. If possible, find a threaded fitting.
I would not recommend stainless steel. Even that will corrode quickly. Try to find plastic hose clamps. They may be a bit harder to find, but it should not be too difficult. You could use a few large zip ties if you can get them tight enough too.
