Reverse Osmosis setup

Alright guys. I have to say that this is the best website I have ever seen. The information is endless and you guys just saved me from buying a cheap protein skimmer off ebay. Alright so pretty much the protein skimmers on ebay are crap but what about the RO units they have on there. You can get a 100gpd unit well equipped for around140-150 bucks. This is less than half of what the local guy wanted for one. Have any of you guys purchased one off ebay? what was your experience? And better yet, the ones of you that have one, where did you get it and whats your experience been with it. I refuse to make weekly trips to the local store just for water. Thanks for any and all replys.

I have the filterdirect ro/di. Has been great for me. Though I might would look for a unit with a larger di chamber next time. I definately doesn't hurt that my unit came with the drinking water kit (storage tank, and faucet for ro water, and a seperate line for the ro/di water). It is nice to have about three gallons of water ready anytime I need it.

i got mine form aquasafesystems on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUA-SAFE-AQUAR...452112725QQcategoryZ20684QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem you can look at his other filters as well. this one has the TDS meter included. as well as a pressure gauge. i have had this unit for about 9 months now and im still getting 0 TDS. i havent changed any of the filters either. thats not to say your filters will last as long, my tap water is only 70-80 TDS. so i have good water to start. another guy alot of people use is FilterDirect.

Customer service is top notch, and I didn't mind paying extra for the "Name Brand"....

Is it any better then ebay Units?? I have no idea, I have heard ebay units produce 0 TDS just as does my AWI so who knows..

I just didn't want to skimp on anything for my tank and later I wish I had just spent the extra.....

So with money not being an object for me, I spent the extra dough. But who knows if that was a waste..
