Exposure was 2.5".
It's actually easy to get into focus because everything is so big on the screen. I do think some type of rail would be better then sliding the tripod back and fourth to focus.
I need to devise some sort of flash that can get around the lens and I think it will really make some nice pics.
I think I am going to rip apart my fiber optic lamp now.
I bought the $8 ring or whatever it was so I can reverse my 50mm onto my 100mm. I played around with it and realized that unless I was doing something wrong, it was going to be useless for aquarium photography. I could only focus it on something that was about .75" in front of the lenses. I did get some crazy pictures of pollen on a flower though. No DOF at all. I'm sure I did something wrong.

Sounds like you got it right to me. I got the reverse ring, a step up adaptor and the connections for my Canon a75 and s2is for $28 total! The Canon 50mm lens was 6$ on ebay. I have a bunch more on the way.
I've got about 2 - 3 inches to focus though. It is limiting somewhat, but I'm going to move stuff closer to the glass.
I'm thinking of using a 5 gallon also.
No dof. I believe it comes with the extreme magnification and there is no way around it. I have a 28mm on the way I hope makes 4x. I'll bet it will be real bad and impossible to find stuff, but for the price I'll take what I can get.
Here's some more. I love it!!
