I know there are people out there that are in need of help. I understand that helping is the idea and mission of this community. However, over the last few months it seems that people are asking the same questions about algea problems when there is a bounty of information on the web (this site also well as many others) about this topic. I cant seem to look at this forum without multiple people asking the same question. On other websites when a topic becomes this redundant there usually is a forum dedicated to that issue. Can RC and the powers that be revise the forums so that algea Id and nutrient issues can be discused there and allow for a more free flow of information exchange for other forums?

I would go even farther and say we ought to take some of the best posts and resources and put them in a sticky topic or an Algae FAQ.

I think many stickys on each genus of fish, algae, etc.. would prevent many many many repeated questions. I see "dwarf angel reef compatiblity" about 10 times a day.

i voted yes, but stickys dont always work, in the begginer forum theres a sticky for how to fight cyno yet every day there s a new thread asking about it and more use of the search function may helo some more too, also an" i need an id" forum may help some

Yup, same questions over and over such as Tangs, aipstasia, DSB vs barebottom. I don't even read or answer them any more.

I voted Yes. I do believe it would not only help people see the information they need, but perhaps take a little bit of the server load off.
Lets see what the powers that be have to say about this.

i personally think that an available search feature would be even MORE helpful!

Maybe you could pay the $12 a year. Think about it, thats the price of 1 frag that you could live without. Think about being able to use the search function! Its worth it! :)

Great idea on the forum.
