Ripped ricordia

I recently purchased a Ricordia about 3 weeks ago. It seemd to be doing fine. Yesterday i noticed that it had a rip or a tear on the outer edge. The tear seems as if it is getting bigger as it is going from the outside and tearing toward the mouth. (sorry no pic, i'm at work) Is the ricordia damaged or is this how they split? It is about 1 1/2 in in diamater and only has one mouth.

it seems as its trying to split.. but a picture would help.. does it have any sort of weird slim or is part of it falling off a rock??
