RO membrane rejection

Does different types of membrane also have different water rejection rates? In other words, if some membranes are less efficient than others, does this mean they reject less water, letting more "dirtier" water pass through thus the output water has higher TDS?

Yes you are correct about membranes. You will want to find an RO/DI unit with a genuine DOW FilmTec membrane (there are imitations out there) and vertical DI canisters. My advice, along with countless others, would be the Typhoon III from www.airwaterice.com Their customer service is also second to none.

Be careful that it is not a 3rd party membrane built with the DOW FILMTEC material (becoming very common!) You simply want a genuine DOW FOLMTEC 75 GPD membrane. Stay away from the 100 GPDs as they have a much lower rejection and your DI will get exhuasted much faster.
