Rubbermaid Top-off reservoir

Hey everyone,

I found a couple different Rubbermaid tubs that I'm thinking of using to hold RO/DI top-off water. One is a Roughneck, and the other is a translucent clear material. However, I read a thread where someone mentioned (this was for sumps, but I would imagine there's no difference) that you had to use Rubbermaid Brute, because they tried the Roughneck and it killed their SPS. Anyone else have issues like this? Maybe I should just get a small fish tank and use that.

as i recall rough neck is good to use, just rince it out a few times with water to get any manufacturing grim off of it

i would put water in higher then you plan on normaly filling it and place air pump and a heater in it for a few days

repeat several times
