rusty algea problems

i have a tank thats been setup for 2 yrs and i have like a rust or brown algea covering everything anyone help

is it rust brown algae or cyano-----can you post a picture of your tank?

in either case an algae or cyano problem is usually due to a build up of phosphates and nitrates. Bring these down and the algae disappears.
