salt in a bucket

Can I mix salt in a 5 gallon bucket with no heater or flow? How long would it last? Also, how long should you want to leave the salt in the water?

yea you can mix water in a bucket. you don't have to have 'flow' or a heater. you can mix it up with something to stir it up with and it should disolve relatively quickly. of course solutes disolve better in higher temperatures, but is not required

I'd warm it up a little before putting it into the tank, though. So you don't shock the inhabitants.
