saltwater mussels

I know this is off topic, but i found a few live mussels at the beach the other day. Since i had an extra 10g saltwater tank that was set up and running, i put the mussels in it. (the tank is already biologically setup...its been running with maturation fluid for some time). The mussels actually opened up and are "feeding."

Does anyone know what i should feed these mussels? (they are the only animals in the tank.

Thanks
Joe

I would feed them phyto. They probably would reduce nitrates rapidly and starve if they aren't very tiny. I have some mussel-tyoe clams that arrived on my LR though, so they do have a chance.

How much of a difference in temperature is there between the water they were collected from and your tank?
