Are all wrasses sand burrowing? Im thinking about getting the yellow wrasse and have heard they do that but I dont have sand. I use gravel as bottom. Will that be a problem?

Not all wrasses bury. The Genera Cirrhilabrus, Paracheilinus, Wetmorella, Pseudocheilinus, and Pseudocheilinops do not bury, so gravel is just fine, but if you are keeping any of the sand burying wrasses gravel is too rough and course and will damage them as they bury. The yellow wrasse, Halichoeres chrysus is a burying wrasse.

And these are all desirable, interesting, wrasses.

You could always add a pile of sand somewhere in the tank, you do not need to cover the whole bottom. It will find it.
