Sand in a Fuge

I am just setting up my fuge with some live rock rubble sitting atop eggcrate. Was planning to add live sand as well. I have read varying accounts as to whether to add sand. Anyone have any comments/experience on this??

How big is the fuge? If it is big, i'd add a ton of sand, like 4+ inches. That way you get the benefits of having a deep sand bed. If not, then just ad a little bit for the pods, maybe a couple inches or so would be fine. I've always used sand and i've always had good luck with it.

Its about 35 gallons. I will add afew inches.

I have a 45 g rubbermaid tub for my fuge and I used around 2-3 in. of live sand along with chaeto and a good light.

I have a 30 Gal. Fuge. I use 3 inches of Miracle Mud and 1 inch of LS. I use Culupera and Light.
