Sargassum, i want to know more about it

i've started experimenting with it, trying to get it to reproduce faster, since it seeds, how well does it work to pull a stalk or part of one and plant it there. I recently noticed it seems to burrow a bit into the rock or anchor more then i thought. There are some old pics of it in my gallery and now it's much bigger, i also tried popping the seeds and i've noticed some new sprouts but not alot. just like to know more about it

The little hollow balls around the stalk make it bouyant, but I don't think that they are involved in sexual reproduction. If it's growing well for you then you can usually spread it by division by clipping off a branch and tieing that fragment down to a rock. It takes a long period of contact for a fragment to develop a holdast, IME. It also grows fine just floating. IME its did well with daylight spectra metal halide lighting and moderate-low nutrients. Like some other macros, it stopped growing for me as my tank became lower in nutrients.

At one time I had a stalk about 2' long, growing up from the bottom of the tank and across the water's surface. Grazers, including a Diadema urchin, left it alone.

well mine has grown well in pc if other people wanted to know, i planted a bunch in my crushed coral side of my tank and wel'll see how that goes, i was thinking of selling some i was just wondering how much people might pay for how much? now that i know u don'ot have to like chip off the rock to 'frag' or multiply them for other people, i only say this too cause i've had some interest in it in the past but never got to finish the deals

I have had it grow well in a few tanks . It is somewhat slow to grow and I like that. I have some in a seahorse tank just floating and it is doing Good, The thing I like is nothing eats it, and as far as selling I don't think most people like it.
