Scolymia help needed - Fan worm problem

I have an awesome 7in ultra-pink and white Scolymia that was doing great in my tank. Recently I noticed that one quarter of it was recessing and losing some pigmentation. At first I thought that a apstasia had stung it, but on closer inspection I saw a burowing fan-worm had gotten into the stony base right where it was receeding. I took some epoxy and cyancrylate to cover up his hole (in an attempt to kill him). Is there anything else I can do?
Once I'm sure that he is dead (the worm, not the scolymia ;) ) is there a way to bring the scolymia back faster? Unfortunatly on the part that is receeding, the mouth is pulling back a bit as well so he can't "close" it. Should I try to squirt some soaked pepets in there for extra nutrition?
