sea hares

I don't think they eat bubble algae, at least not the big bubbles. From looking at their mouths, they have the same bilateral scraping teeth that a turbo snail has. If you are looking to get rid of hair algae, they are great. If bubbles are your problem, I've heard that emerald crabs, and Desjardinii tangs eat it, but have no experience. HTH

Thanks. I have a sea hare I could put in there but almost all the algea is bubble algea so if he won't eat it he may starve. I haven't found him to be that effective on the hair algea either for that matter though. Some here have said they cleaned it up in short order. Mine helps a bit but is definately not a sole solution to the problem.

It may depend on the type of sea hare you have. I have found the mini/green sea hares to be fairly ineffective. My big brown ugly sea hare mowed down algae like cotton candy. I have since cleaned up my algae problem with rowaphos in a reactor. This eliminated my algae source.
