Shark found in the desert -This is disgusting

I am thinking that this is a hoax???
that animal doesnt look like it had been laying the sun for very long if at all. no blemishes or wrinkles in the skin, no flies or bugs, no dirt or dust on it. I dont know, doesnt feel convincing to me

Um whos to say hpw long it had been there? What do you mean by not convincing (BTW I am not trying to be an a** so if that is how I sound I aplogize)? I am just trying to understand why you don't think that is real? Looks like a real, dead leopard shrk to me...

I have seen plenty of sharks up close in person, in the water and out. I majored in marine biology and worked with the marine fisheries for years, so handling sharks was a daily chore. I am just saying that to me this shark looks faked. photochop maybe> I dunno, just doesnt look real.

Oh ok, I gottcha. It is possible. Kinda weird if it is fake. Kinda weird if its not...lol

Well, the story is totally plausible. Fishermen catch those guys out here all the time. It's not a stretch to imagine that storyline...it just requires stupidity. After seeing the brutality of people while collecting shark fins, some stupidity/indifference wouldn't be surprising. Sad though.

what a stupid article- there is no way to know if it was fishermen (let alone "deep sea" fishermen) that killed it and there is no way to know if was put in someones pool. Besides, compared the # of leopards that killed as bycatch, this isn't even on the radar.

BTW, after reading my post tonight I thought it sounded like I was saying fishermen in general were stupid. I was not. I was just saying whoever did that with the shark was.

It looks like a real shark to me. The only thing that looks fake is its condition; any dead animal left in the desert would look pretty nasty in a short time. So either they found it right after it was dumped, they dumped it and called the news or the story is fake.

Are there ever big storms that come off the ocean? Recently? It happens in the SE, water spouts pick up fish and when it rains they rain out on land...perhaps that could be the culprit.

Pastor's shark found in Mojave!

In February, the Department of Justice cracked a ring of poachers led by Pastor Kevin Thompson of the Bay Area Family Church, Holy Spirit Association - Unification Worldwide Church in San Leandro.

For ten years, Thompson and his crew had been using church-owned boats to harvest thousands of the sharks from East Bay waters. Over the years they netted more than $1.2 million selling their booty to companies in Miami, Chicago, Houston; Romulus, Michigan; Milford, Connecticut; the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

The indictment against the band of crooks charges that approximately 465 juvenile leopard sharks were sold to companies around the world.
Another reason not to tithe.
