Can anyone tell me what type of shark this is? It is for sale from a fellow reefer but he says it is a bamboo. It doesn't look like any bamboos I have seen.
Looks like an Atelomycterus marmoratus(coral cat shark). Usually get to 2 feet to 27" in the wild, maybe slightly larger. Blue zoo aquatics has some information on them.
Agreed - it's a Coral Catshark (Atelomycterus marmoratus). But they can reach 27.5" inches (70 cm) in either captivity or the wild. Males tend to be smaller - rarely getting larger than 24 inches. Females will usually get about 24-26 inches.
