Sharks and Magnets

The build is coming along great. The conservation section is 172,800 sq ft. The underwater divider is set up and a survey of the life in the conservation area has taken place. Next is to find boats, jetskis and helicopters to sink, figure out how I want to stock it and build a few canals so have more water move between the conservation section and the rest of the area. There is a great episode on Whale Wars that teaches you how to sink objects in the water. I will keep everyone updated as I progress.

Any pictures of the updated project?

I would not take anything from Whale Wars as educational. It's entertainment TV only.

Magnets shouldn't upset them. The Mythbusters tested that with some strong magnets, and the sharks didn't seem bothered.

Mythbusters isn't real just because it's "reality" TV.

Pretty sure the answers they come up with are at least reasonably reliable, though... I mean, if you put a bunch of magnets in with a shark and the shark doesn't seem to care, that's a fairly good indication that sharks don't mind magnets.

Myth Busters is often wrong due to the way they 'test' their ideas. For instance, they claimed that it is impossible to shoot with a rifle through the scope of another rifle, when there have been several accounts of it happening in the field, but more importantly, if the bullet fits, its possible. Common sense will tell you that. After a short amount of time, they retested and found out they were wrong. They do this periodically with a lot of their tests. They're definitely not an authority on anything. I'd almost trust whale wars more than them.

Whale Wars is an excellent show. Paul Watson has been doing marine environmental work for almost 50 years. He was chosen for the show because of his great contributions and extensive knowledge of the ocean and how to care for it. He has been shot protecting the oceans. He is a great Canadian Hero (sacrasim off).

Guy is a terrorist. Him and his gang commits acts of violence in order to further their political agenda. The Japanese have every right to protect their citizens from terrorists trying to harm them. The Japanese are not doing anything illegal. He should not hate the player but he should hate the game. His time and money will be better off bribing countries into developing new regulations.

I was having a bad day until I read that. Thanks for the chuckle. I needed it.
Doing things illegally to stop someone from doing things illegally defeats the purpose. If you think the law should be upheld, then you should also be upholding the law.

I think they are more worried about the morality than the legality. Most of them basically think whales are people, right?
