Should I be concerned with my KCl additive?

Hi,

I use a Potassium chloride product to maintain the potassium levels in my reef tank between 310 ppm -390 ppm. I test K levels using Salifert. Below is the manufacturer's specification. Is this product reef safe?

Thanks in advance.

The grade you have is third on the list of purity; first comes Ultra Pure, than Pro Anelyse, than comes v.p or very pure like the one you - and I have.

Here's a complete list of all ingredients that comes with this grade of KCl.

F Acid<0.003%
F Alk.<0.005%
Al<0.0001%
As<0.00005%
Ca<0.005%
Cu<0.001%
Fe<0.001%
Mg<0.002%
Na<0.07%
Pb<0.001%
Zn<0.002%
HM as Pb<0.0005%
Br<0.1%
SO4<0.01%

Maybe you should look into K2CO3 and/or KHCO3 too.
And make your own "K-balance" ;)

A tip; for its solubility check Wikipedia
