Should i be using garlic as preventitive supplement?

I am getting mixed feedback on the benefit as a preventitive for ich velvet ect etc, so far i use zoe marine, selcom and cyclops e as dietary supplements,thanks, the selcom and zoe marine have been reversing lateral line in my yellow tang sucessfully to say, and bringing back he rrobust yellow color from when i first aquired her 6 months ago

I suspect garlic has some good uses, but so far the only effect I have found is it makes my tank stink.
