should I worry about my clams

I just bought two new max clams a couple of days ago. I followed all the tips with acclimatization. My water parameters are good. I have 2 - 250w MH and 2 96wpc actinics. My clams are about 2-3" and they are on a rock about 22" directly under the bulb. My concern is that the mantle are not fully extended. They barely reach to the edge of the shell. My temp is a bit high due to the summer heat. It is about 84. Do I need to do anything to ensure the survival of the clams? Should I wait until they settle into their new home?

Some clams might take longer than two days to feel at ease and expand fully. 84 degrees isn't unreasonable. I've had my temp spike up to 86 and my five clams were fine (as far as I can tell - it's not like they don't cry or shriek). Run a fan across the water surface and your temp worrys will be over.

I had a few do that then I moved them to another location where the current wasn't as strong and now they fully extend. It's hard to water movement that far down.

try placing them higher, that is a bit low where you got them.....

Try to lower the temp on the heater or install some more fans if you don't have any or don't have strong enough ones.....

What's your ph at? Salinity?

Ammonia?
