Show me your canopy DIY LED fixtures!

Very impressive setup BL, Pneumatic Cylinder to raise and lower your lights?
I thought you can only see stuff like that made for the US market....lol
Now, if you could make it work with a universal remote this thing would outsell both EcoTech Radion and AquaIlumination .

if you have a good table saw with a carbide blade you can get 1inch square tubing from home depot and split it into c-chanel on the saw.
i got an 8ft peice for about $27 and made 4x 36inch peices plus extra for brackets, you can't beat that with a heatsink.

I actually work at a theater rigging and lighting company and they just cut some lengths of 400 track where it's essentially now junior channel. They said I can have the scrap, so we will see what lengths they have when they are done.

30" 36 led fixture over a 40g breeder
56" 72 led fixture over a 120g 6' long

We made them with the "cluster" idea to better blend colors. All clusters consist of 1 blue, 6 royal blue, 2 cool white and 3 neutral white, all driven at 700mA, all 60 degree lenses. The color really came out great, the final picture doesn't do it justice. Still waiting to get the 30" fixture mounted.

Patzig, great job on the enclosures.
Looking at the 3rd picture it appear as you're driving each cluster with a single driver.
That would give a great effect if you had the clusters turn on and ramp up from left to right within 20 min of each other and ramp down in the same order.

I'd be definitely interested in more pictures of the setup and a video of the fixture running over the tank.

Here is mine, I bought the 72kit from aquastyle. I just finished the canopy today and got it mounted above the tank. Here are several pictures of the build. Only some of the optics are on in this picture, but they all have 80* optics installed currently.

Nice builds everyone!

WOOT!!

Glad you found one brodda :)

I am in the process of rebuilding my fixture.... new frame is done!

6 C channels that will hold 24 LED's each. I am currently debating on going color color per channel, or just doing what i already have and alternate RB/CW...... killing me! lol

Nice man, I've been following your build on and off. Looks really good. Everything in there is thriving. Those are the BL LED's right? You headed to the event in March in Storrs?

Yup i got the BL LED's a go and so far so good.... not as much PAR as im sure your getting but plenty to keep the Rose Bubble Tip plenty happy at the sandbed.... about 36 or 37" away from the LED's

Thank guys, here's my FTS under DIY LED.
I've got a little problem with cyano right now.

Great looking tank, I love the shadowing effect you get with spotlighting/clustering your LEDs! Well done!! Please post more pictures on how you laid out your LEDS!

Thank you for posting a diagram of your layout. Do you only have your white LED's on in the above picture? After seeing your layout I am surprised the perimeter regions are so dark. If so can you post a picture with all your LED's on? Again, I really like the effect you achieved!
FTS in the picture above all LEDs are on, 360 LEDs in total.
