Not as fancy as some on here but the wood color and figure are outstanding.

I love this, I want one for my 34G solana. Could you possibly send me the build plan or something. I'm no carpenter but would have fun attempting to make this!

I rarely take the time to draw out detailed plans on projects that I build, but I likely will when I build my stand for my new 320 gallon tank. I do have a build thread for my 90 gallon rimless build that I finished several months ago. The stand on that tank is 2x4 material and this one is cabinet grade plywood. I painted bothwith oil based gloss white. The exterior panels were painted white on the inside and either stained or painted on the exterior surfaces. I used pocket screws, lots of Titebond III (waterproof) glue and stainless hardware, including the drawer slides.

Here are some pics of the other tank and this one without the side panels, door and light bar.

Wow, simply wonderful, I can tell a lot of thought went into matching wood grains. that is a beautiful stand.

What is the species of wood?

Thank you Sis.
The face frames are African Mahogany, The round over trim is Tiger Maple, The hood panels are Quilted Saple, The door panels are Ribbon Narra veneer.
It is finished with Boiled linseed oil And a semi gloss top coat.

I cannot take credit on my own for the door configuration. I used the same stainless steel drawer slides as on the original Reef In The Sky stand. They are Sugatsune ESR-4513 45mm Stainless Steel Full Extension Slide. I used 2 pairs of 22" slides for my 4' wide stand and one set for the 2x2x2 stand. Lining them up can be a little tricky, but isn't too bad.

Forgot the photos you'd asked for.

Sadly people who just look at the pictures will miss the kitten comment. Post of the year material if you ask me. Even a pic to back it up. Awesome.

THX gatorxx , nice system ,
It makes me wanna re-think my door pannels system :D
I was planning to have L -shaped doors with hinges that hang on the side.
But this concept is also very intresting !!

Thx tntneon for the compliment. I may actually be building a stand for a local fish store that a friend owns that will be L shaped with (2) 48x30x22 Rimless tanks and a 30x30 tank. Tried to figure a way to make it with similar doors, but it just won't work due to the size. If your L-Shaped tank isn't too big, you probably could do it. I'd think that you could get away with doors up to 32" with the 28" stainless slide. Here is a link to where I ordered mine. I used a 22" slide on 25" wide doors and it worked well.

Good Luck

Here is what I ended up with. It certainly is not fancy by the standards of these other tanks, but I am proud since it my first ever attempt at any kind of wood working.

Some very original ideas here. I really like the idea of multiple tanks as the same display presentation. Keep posting pics as this is one of my favorite threads on rc.
