Hey everyone...

I'm rather new to posting here on the reefcentral forums however i've been lurking for a few years now. To start i just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself. My name is Justin and I am a college student at the University of Tampa. I live in northern NJ.

Currently i have a 10g freshwater planted tank and a 12 gallon hex FOWLR. I am moving over the summer and will be upgrading my sw to a 20L or 27 long depending on funds.

I would love to see some pictures of other's 20Ls or other long tanks in order to get some ideas for my rockscaping. I would also appreciate it if everyone would include their tank specs so i could get some ideas for equipment.

Thanks in advance and i hope to see some awesome tanks!

I was int he same place as you were. I was picking between a 20g long nad a 29g. I ended up getting a amazing deal on a used tank, stand, sump, and pump so I went with the 20g. Ill show some pictures when it has the rock in it tomorrow. Im putting the tank together today and I hope to have it set up by the end of this weekend.

This was my first reef, so the aquascaping isn't too great but it was a good start. She's long since broken down. (Oh, forgive the water level, I'm sure I was water changing or something ;))

As I said, it was my first reef which actually started as a FW puffer tank which moved up to brackish with my puffers, and ended up being acclimated to full saltwater over time. I used a biowheel and a couple small powerheads. Nothing special. I only ran a skimmer on it the last few months I had it up. It never had any problems with it and for my first experience, I really enjoyed that stupid tank. I only ran PC's on it because I had no clue about SPS and halides.

hey KOGO... those clams are awesome... did u have one of those hang on back refugiums?

stellablu.. those pics look great... what tank do u have now?

blacksh33p.. im really liking the 2 island look.... im thinking of something similar...

how much live rock do u all have in there?

J3838 - Thanks, heh. I am in the process of downgrading from a 56g to a 24g NC and I am also running a 12g NC and a 3g Eclipse. I was looking to upgrade to a 210g, but I'm moving across state lines in a few months and would rather wait on starting a much larger tank. :) I think I had maybe 30 lbs of LR, but they were just a couple dense pieces. Nowadays I pack in as much LR I can without it looking like a rubble farm. :)

blacksh33p - As much as I'm a DSB lover, you gotta admit that BB looks incredibly fresh! Gorgeous setup. I love my gorgonians, but somehow can never place them just right. In my tank they stick out like sore thumbs, but in yours they become part of the landscape. Nice. :)

OMGoodness! Is there anything besides xenia in that sucker? very healthy xenia at that!! heheh that's gotta look pretty cool swaying back and forth in the flow. :)

Yea there is nothing really in there besides the xeina every thing else is in my 46. And it will put you in a trance watching it lol

I have never done anything to that tank lol the key i belive is no skimmer all ever do is feed the 2 clowns also i change the water every 6 months.
It has a tidepool sump a ten gallon fuge and has been set up over 2 years.

This tank is amazing this stuff grows so fast you can almost watch.

the fuge is a diy 10g plumbed underneath the main tank.

thats awesome... i love the tanks... KOGO... what kind of pump do you have for the return?

schscountryboy--- i love it... thats awesome...

i cant remember the name, but i think it pumps like 5-600gph at zero head. i have it dialed back quite a bit. i also use a penguin 1140 split into a forked lockline for counter current.

very nice...
Anybody else out there?....
if you don't have a long tank but have a unique aquascape... or even if you just have a few unique ideas for me please post away!!!
