Shrimp Goby MIA?

I purcahsed a Hifin Banded shrimp goby on Monday night. He entered the tank at about 10 PM after acclimation. I saw him swim down to the back and camp on a rock in the back corner near the bottom. After watching him for about 5-10 minutes and making sure he was in the tank, not flipping out, and not being harmed, I went upstairs.

I did not see any sign of him yesterday, and just checked this morning (at 7) and still no sign.

I was wondering if this has happened to many people before? If so, how long did it take before you spotted him?

My rocks are very porous and have many holes and cracks he could be in, but they are sand bed gobies.

The back half of the tank top is egg crate, so I suppose he could have jumped out.... but I checked around the tank and floor for him and no sign.

I have kept jawfish in the past, and they usually have their burrow made by the next day..... I guess I am freaking out cause I am comparing them.

Tank is a 25 gallon AGA with probably 25 lbs of rock, macro algae, some inverts, and 2 sea horses.

Thanks!

Just keep looking. It is probably hiding somewhere. My shrimp goby will go missing for a few days here and there. Last week him and his shrimp picked up shop completely and moved to a new location.

my fire fish went mia for almost a week. I thought he was gone but then he popped up and is very active now. Just give him a little time to adjust.

I have had several yellow watchman gobies go "missing" for periods up to several months (in a 65 gallon tank). And don't think it was for a lack of looking (flashlight in the holes/tunnels, night views, long time viewing, feedings, etc.... just no luck). Then one day the fish is back out front like nothing happened. Weird.

alot of them dig holes underneathe your rock and sit there. I saw in one guys tank the goby had like a 6x6 inch area to play in with tunnels under rocks. He only peaked his head out 1 time for maybe a second.

I have a paired Pistol and Yellow Watchman Goby that disappear for up to a month at a time.. then out they come ready to play for 2 - 3 weeks. I am assuming the Pistol is moulting and stays hidden. Everytime he comes out he is bigger... so missing for a couple of days would not freak me out.
