Man that is soooooo neat! Congrats on your little treasure. I wonder if those little guys perform any defensive duties?

Periclimenes sp. These shrimps have a symbiotic relationship with Tridacna clams. I dont know what they feed on, there isnt much information about these guys, but I dont think that they go out to find something to eat. They may be feeding on clam but just too little that it doesnt do any harm to the clam.

My thought is,... as the clam filters the water any solids it strains out would have to go somewhere. maybe it feeds on those solids?

Rob,

My squammy has one also. It is not anything to be alarmed about. Don't really know the relationship, but my clam is just fine.
