sideway maxima

I recently got a nice purple and gold maxima that about 3" or so. My other maxima's and crocea's are fine in the tank. This one will not remain up-right for anything! I have tried relocation (before it had a chance to attach to anything) and this has not helped. Any suggestions to why this particular clam is doing this or ideas on how to stop this?

My Maxima has done the same thing for months. I have tried to prop it up, placed it on sand and shells and rock, and it still falls over. I prop it back up every few days. It is growing so I guess it's ok. I would recomend proping it up and trying different bases for it but in the long run I think as long as it opens and gets enough light and food it will be fine.

you can't stop them. Sometimes the light is to strong so they turn away or they turn to get the reflected light from the glass and sometimes they do it for no reason at all. I would just make sure that it does not shade the mantle to much or it will start to bleach.

I have 2 croceas that do this I gave up on righting them after week. So far it has been several months and they are all ok.
