Skimmer foaming after adding putty

been about 3 days and everytime i turn skimmer on it just foams to top and overflows.. I am running carbon now. I noticed the foaming started after adding putty. is there a magic potion here? funny when I stick my finger down into collection cup the foam resides. must be from the oils on my hands.

Some things just make a skimmer go nuts, Chemiclean is one.
Water change should help.

Completely normal

Yep..totally normal.. Give it a few more days...Try to adjust it if possible to not go crazy(raise it up if you can) .. Then give it a good cleaning in a week or so..

5% water change and lowered water level did the trick.

It's going to keep foaming like that until your system depletes whatever the source is. Epoxies and adhesive putties are known to cause skimmer foam like that.

Not much you can do but ride it out, and adjust as best you can to not overflow it too bad.
