skimmer pump configuration?

thinking of getting a bigger skimmer ,,insted of getting a bigger needlwheel with larger pump ,,was thinking of getting a MR-2 and changing out my return pump wiht a reefflo dart and running the skimmer and the return off od the same pump this will keep the old eletric bill lower vers adding a second pump or bigger needlewheel pump ,,

You could, but it might be a little too much flow from a Dart to an MR2.

i would also be using it as a ruturn pump as well ,,still to much flow

Isa still too much flow if you only split it in half, you might have to do a little less to feed the skimmer, or run somethign else off it. Like yoru chiller.

Well you have to look at the flow that your tank is draining at and that is the pump you will need to fit your needs, there are many pumps out on the market that wuld do the job, Look into Iwaki.
