SKimmer rinsing

how often shoudl i rinse4 out my skimmer cup and clean it off? and how often shoudl i rinse down my skimmer?

i take out my skimmer cup usually after 2-3 emptyings...just be sure that the "riser tube" in the middle doesnt build up gunk on it...ive heard/read that can affect the output of your skimmer..grab a toothy brush, warm water, clean off, then you should be good to go!

I take out and clean the cup, etc. once each month in my Aqua C Remora HOB.

I empty the cup and clean it out every other day or as needed.
Then I dry with paper towels to keep my bad tap water from getting in the tank.

i thought about doing that too but figured..eh..its the collection cup..lol

I use an AquaC EV 180 and clean the cup every other day. I have found it really affects the efficiency of the skimmer. I clean the column weekly. Seems a dirty riser impedes the flow or lift of the foam.
