Snowflake eel feeding

I recently got a snowflake eel for my 55 fo and he's just over a foot long. I've been feeding him little pieces of thawed out frozen shrimp. He seems happy in his little pipe, but I was just curious as to what you guys feed your Lil eels, for maybe there's a better option. Thanks[emoji4]

I feed mind frozen silver sides and shrimp but if you are feeding shrimp make sure it is raw uncooked shrimp

I feed mine a good variety of food, raw shrimp, squid, clam and tilapia he goes crazy for the squid

I used mainly raw frozen thawed shrimp cut into 1'' pieces for my eel. I don't have him anymore, but he thrived for a long time in my tank.

I have a jeweled eel, he'll come out of the rocks and to the top for squid and octopus. You can get fresh octopus at an asian market. As well as shrimp and silversides. I shy away from strips of fish, it breaks up to easy, and he's a messy eater.

It's good to feed a variety and try to limit how many thiaminase-containing foods you feed. Here's a good write up on the subject.

I also soak my eel's food in vitachem. I highly recommend it as a supplement, to make sure he's getting everything he needs.

Squid is something my snowflakes always went crazy for, but once they are acclimated they should eat just about anything you put on the feeding stick.
