Solar ?

Has anyone looked into a small solar panel and inverter set - up to power a reef tank ? I'm from SoCal and electricity cost are over $200 now ! I figure half that is my reef tank.

You would have to have batteries wouldn't you for night time and low sun days?

the cost for the panels are quite high still. a 1,000 watt panel wil run you over $5,000. even the 45watt panels are a couple hundered. I would look into windmills much cheaper. I have a buddy that is into solar, windmills I could see if I could get some links from him if you want.
