I think I'm just about ready to begin adding Water to the tank, am I ?

My setup to be:

Lighting 1X 30W Blue Actinic, 1x 30W Marine White (With reflectors)
AquaC Remora Skimmer, with Maxi 1200
Hydor external 300W Heater (300W hydor Theo internal as backup)
TetraTec EX1200 External Aquarium Filter, running Carbon and PhosGuard
Eheim 1212 Powerhead x 2
MaxiJet MP600 Powerhead x 2
60lbs Base Sand (Sugar Sized)
20lbs Live Sand
30kg (60lbs) Uncured Fiji L/R (To be ordered)
Ammonia/um, Nitrate/ite, Ph Testing Kits
Hydrometer
4 Stage RO Unit (50g p/d)

How does this sound? Have I missed anything?

1 more dilemma. ......

I aimed to do the aquascaping, and setup the tank this up-coming Thursday.
I'm going to be out of the country on vacation w/c 8 May for 7 days.
Should I delay setup until after the vacation, or will everything be ok whilst i'm away, providing some-one can pop in to check evrything is working?

It's a good job you guys don't charge for advice!

Thanks in advance!

In this hobby slowwwww is always better. I know it's exciting, and new. But you need to wait... Everything wiil be there when you return. And you won't be worring on vacation......

Good Luck

I d set up the tank, why wait 2 months? just because you set it up doesnt mean you have to put any animals in it. Might as well knock a couple months of aging into your tank, cycle finished, and rock cured

Are you going to be keeping corals? If so you're lighting is going to need to be significantly upgraded.

If not, disregard.

I'd set it up. As long as you have no animals in it. Just make sure the person watching the tank knows what he/she is looking for.

Thanks for everyone's input so far.....

I'm definately only going to be setting it up with L/R and Live Sand before I go, I will be here to watch it for the first 5 weeks.

does anyon else have their opinion on what I should do?

Set-up or wait?

I see not trouble with setting it up now. The longer the LR and LS sit the more effective they will be when you start stocking the tank.

I too would set it up now and start the cycle... Is your tank drilled? If not it may be a good idea to do so now and plug them for later use. In the long run you will be happy you did...
