Right, I thought I had this figured!!

Floridas = high light

yumas = low.

but I have since read

floridas light less iintense light and yumas like more? Was I right the first time?

Im due my halide this week so dont wanna go melting rics!!

As long as you have enough light, all mushrooms can thrive (some even in lower lights or in tucked away places in the tank)

I think the key that should be emphasized is acclimation. If you have pretty strong lights start them out low especially if you aren't sure what lights they were under before and slowly move them up from there.

With wild caught yumas .. they can be finicky so high or low light, however your tank is can freak them out so acclimation is key (and even then for some, who knows, they are wacky!) .. eventually over time you can have everything in high light if you take your time and go slow depending on how you wish to have these corals in your tank

Hope that helps :)

ps- typically the floridas can handle more light right off the bat, perhaps thats a better way of saying it? the'yre pretty tough

ahh gotcha, cos I see all these yumas that come in and theyre like all pink with say a green base and then under halides, bam, all sorts of colours come out of them!

I have a rock full of yumas just come in, they were olive green at first, then a bit pink, now green with brown bubbles, I dont know whats goin on wit them, also they have bright purple just inside thier mouths???!!

cheers scott. heres a pic of my new lot, some are a little poorley

This has got around 13 on, 3 or 4 are a bit Ill and very white, a couple are spitting zooanthile, but then the next minute they're ok. this rock cost me the equivalent of 40dollars!

the more the better-jmho and acclimate them to it, they will be brighter. I prefer 8-10 watts of MH per gl and a very shallow tank. good luck
