Someones wrong

When I bought the tank, they told me that I didn't need the glass tops. 72 bow.

Then, today, a person who worked for AGA said that glass tops are a must and could cause a fire???
So, who's right?

I have 260watt pc's with a protective acrylic cover and it sits on legs.

I run my 46 bow with no glass tops.. they are great for keeping evap down. but trap heat. i'd say as long as your lights have a cover your good. just use common sense.

Many people go topless and some have had fires. The manufacturer's rep is always going to take the safest approach so as to protect themselves from liablity. In somewhat the same vein I understand that its against the rules in Canada to market submersible heaters as submersible.

I have never had a top on my tanks and have been lucky I guess- never had a fire. I agree with Ol'salty.. traps alot of heat but does reduce evap.

Hobbes, I have them all. I'm rather greedy, when they were on sale I bought every one the them. I have them stored in my fish room. I'm willing to trade you one or two of them for that JUNKY 'ol rock you got
