Something on side of shrimp???

I got this shrimp today and I noticed that there is something on the side of it. Does anyone know what it is?? Its hard to get a good picture of it..

No, the shrimp is not dead....But I am afraid to put it in my tank because I don't know what is on it

I'm thinking it is a parasitic isopod.

I pulled it off...but he ended up dying afterwards
