sound dampening box for external pump

Drilling holes in the box? Well that lets out the sound :)

We could add a flowmaster with a nice chrome tip and give it a good deep rumble but we aren't talking jet engine loud here. If it is in a stand then line the stand.

Like I said, just drop it in the fuge.

argetni44, how hot do MAGs get? I would gess the low hundreds if that. Just wondering.

You know... i couldn't tell you exactly how hot they get... but just working in the buisness for such a long time i have seen a lot of things... and yes, Bean, there is a very small likelihood of the pump actually reaching full meltdown, however I have seen a mag before looking like someone just took a blowtorch to the plastic casing and then ran it over with a car. Likelihood=low, but possible, especially externally.

i would, however, agree with you, Bean, that just throwing it in the fuge with a rubber mat probably would suffice... the sound dampening box, however innovative, may not be the best approach

Of course anything can melt down :)

The point is that putting a magdrive pump in a box is not likely to be the cause of such a meltdown... thats all.

Then again, I would not run a mag drive externaly either :)
