Squamosa From Palau

Just wanted to share this picture of my new Squamosa from Palau, NOT Pohnpei. It is 9.5" and it is heavy.

Gene,

The larger the clam the more the scales will appear to be. Some experts say they can tell the age of the clam by measuring the distance between the scales and also recognize the zone in which it came.

Your clam is a Derrasa while Barry's clam is a Squamosa. Derrasa have minimal scutes on their shell.

Is that a big rose anemone in the backgroud? If so, have you had any trouble with it and your clams? That is a really nice clam.
