This little star polyp hasmt opened today. Been doing very well since it was in the tank about 3 weeks now. Just closed today. Any ideas?

I have a few green star polyps and noticed they are pretty temperamental to any kind of algae and/or cyano bulld-up near them. Try taking a coral feeder and gently blowing any debris on and around where the star-polyp resides. IME, they in general do well where flow is good.

BTW, with other corals I had been able to dip them in a 50/50 saltwater/H202 (3%) solution for 1-minute and after that the corals did better. EXCEPT green-star polyps!!! I instantly killed GSP by doing this so using a coral-feeder to blow stuff off them is definitely preferred!

Very normal. My softies of a few different kinds are temperamental and fickle. I had a small gargonian retract for over 4 weeks, just to re-open and shed its outer skin. Looks great again. Corals are weird.

The worst thing you can do is try to “fix” things. Give it some time to figure itself out.
