Star Polyps

My star polyps are not opening all the way. They used be long and wavy and now they are real close to the skin. Any suggestions?

They need some medium flow and medium lighting, If the light is too high they may close a bit.
Once in a while they close completely to allow for their "skin" to be cleaned by the flow, you can help by using a Turkey Baster on them when the skin show.
Also look for bugs or fish bothering them.

Have you made any changes to your take recently? No new lights or different flow?

No recent changes...but I am thinking about moving them. They have always done well where they are and do not want to over react.

What type of lighting,how high up in tank,flow???

I have a mix of 2 6ft VHO One Actinic ne 50/0, 2 175 MH 10000k and 2 reular 4 ft actinic flor. It is mi7dwa up the tank and I have really good flow.

if you have not changed anything, it might be your water parameters
