Starfish and Waterflow

Hi I bought a fromia star about 2 days ago and it stays primarily at the top of the tank where the flow off of the filter directly hits it. So is this normal? Do starfish like alot of flow? because he lays one of his arms back so its laying across the top of the water and his other four arms are just stuck to the glass and its kind of weird

i have a red fromia sea star and it's hanging out on top of the tank in the same manner as yours, every time i place him i the bottom he just climbs back up not sure what to make of this behavior. Do you spot feed your's?

spot feed?? I guess I don't spot feed the starfish. sorry I only have like 3 months experience but the LFS told me that he will just eat any of the mysis shrimp my fish don't eat or will eat some of the algae on the glass.

but I try to place him on a rock or something and he will slowly go to the top of the tank every time.

if u only have 3 months exp u should probably take it back cause it might die
