Starfish lost an arm and flame angel is nipping at it

Yesterday I saw one of my red stars jammed up in an acro and later he was out but lost a portion of his leg now the flame angel is nipping at it I have 2 other reef tanks but I don't know that putting him in one of them would be any better I was thinking about putting him in the overflow I had an urchin live in there for over a year, i have a 2 gal cube that used to house a Betta. Not sure about what to do, anyone have any suggestions ?

I would rehome it to an area that prevents something from nipping at it for the best chance of success..

By red star are you referring to a fromia sp.? IME, when they lose an arm it is a strong indicator that it is dying. If you can put it in the sump or other isolated spot where it's food source (whatever that might be) is plentiful it might recover.
