They look like starfishes, I found them on my lots red macroalgae.
Do they eat macroalgae?

They are Asterina starfish. No one is sure what they eat, but I'm trying to figure out right now. Most seem to be harmless, but occasionally some will eat corals (mainly SPS).

I have been told they are predatory starfish and will feast on your corals. Get them out as quick as you can. They reproduce very quickly.

So do I and just about everyone else I know and I've never personally known anyone that has had trouble with them. It is very rare that they bother corals.

I have a ton of Asterina in my reef tank and they don't seem to be bothering anything. The species I have seem to be grazers of algae.
