I have been thinking about getting a clam for some time now and I was seeing if there were any clam safe stars such as a linka or marble sea star I think there called. I would get a derasa clam since I am a beginner.

No. I was thinking about getting an orange linka the other day and I heard they eat clams. I rather have a clam so I wouldent get one if he was a clam eater. I just was seeing if there were any clam safe stars. I do have a sand shifter and serpent though.

i dont know if eather of those will be a problem or not,i dont keep any stars because to many of them will pray on clams.sorry not much help here

You can get the sand stirring starfish. I have them in my tank with 2 deresa, one squami, 2 corocea, a maxima, and a gigas. They stay away.

blue linkias are fine as they eat stuff off the liverock however they can be quite hard to acclimatize, the only other species iv tried is fromia monilis and that has been fine and its been in the tank for about 1 1/2 years.
