Still looking for el cheapo HOB skimmer for a 15H

I have a 15 high that came with an eclispe hood. I got one of those freshwater skimmers and removed the intake tube from the pump hooked the skimmer to it and let the skimmer pull the water from the top of the tank to the filter. Seems to be working okay for the mantis tank. Not sure what it would do on a coral tank though. But the cost was about 10.00

I M O tell him to save a few more bucks and do the aqua c remora.
ive heard the skilter which is in his price range doesnt really skim and is extra loud . you could try mcox33 idea . may be a winner. i even think that a jebo in ebay might work but still going to do 1/2 the job of the remora if not less.
its taken me a year to realize that i end up buying the right stuff eventually. after buying cheap stuff that only frustrates me. then im out that money as well.
