stocklist problem?

is there any problem with this stocklist setup for a 75 gal?

Blackfoot Lionfish
Sailfin Tang
zebra goby
blue ribbon eel
4 Anthias
5 Green Chromis
2 cleaner shrimps
SS star
Few hermits
Few snails

the anthian and chromis are a toss up becuase of the eel.

Will the lion fish be ok with the chromis, anthias, shrimp and other inverts?

The reason why I am asking is because I thought they ate small fish and inverts.

he's a type of dwarf lion and wont get over 2-3 inchs. i had a fuzzy dwarf before and he never even looked twice at my damsel or my cleaner shrimp before. he even let my shrimp clean him from time to time so i was hopeing that this species would be fine as well.

Blackfoot Lion fish don`t get very big but they mouth is pretty big anything that fits in they mouth is gone but if u feed him a lot u wont have a problem, remember keep him full :)

and bro if u find one let me know were I want one to but those are not easy to find

very nice fish I love it

ya i was thinking of ordering one online. only place i have found one so far. i love the color on them :D if i find one localy i will definantly let you know :)

Yea lion will eventually get all the fish. Just like Roggers :p

The sailfin is a better choice than a Lion. Lions don't belong in Reefs IMO. Rogger can get away with it because of sheer ammount of real estate in his tank. I dunno, I guess you could do it, I just wouldn't. Oh and the eel might end up eating your fish at all, but I'm no eel expert. Don't expect to keep many corals with a fishlist like that. It'll be a nice FOWLR if those anthias can get comfortable.

ill just have a few zoas and shrooms. i dont see why people say lions cant go in a reef tank. why do people avoid it? i never had a problem with my other one. he only gets 3 inches. and should the sailfin be in something closed to a 150-175 gal tank?

Where do you find that lion online, what site?? Its beautiful!! Im of the opinion that both the eel and lion will eat the shrimps, goby and anthias, but if you keep them fed, you just might have luck!!

The problem with lions is that they eat large meals, however infrequently, but large meals mean big poop, which means you've got to either filter really well, or let the nitrates rise and not have corals and/or sensitive fish. They also are known for eating fish that can fit in their mouths, or sometimes not even fit in their mouths.

Yea the sailfin should be in a bigger tank, but you can get away with a small one, it'll take a year or so to grow, and by then you'll know whether you'll want to upgrade or get out of the hobby. That's a decision that most people face in the first year of being in the hobby.

My salfin is happy as a clam in my 120g, he's staying a medium size, not growing any larger I don't believe, because I've seen them much larger than his size. He used to be in either a 90 or a 65, don't remember what size it was, and he was actually doing really well in there as well. You can usually scrimp as long as you've got good filtration and a well established tank.

I appreciate your enthusiasm of stocking your tank up a bit more, but didn't you have a crash less than a month ago? I would suggest not adding anything for 3 or so months after a major incident. Just my advice, I know it's very conservative, so take it or leave it. Good luck though, and we're all here to help :)

im not adding anything for awhile just trying to figure out a game plan. i shall never leave this hobby :D already been it it for a year and so far i dont see myself leaving :P as far as the filtering goes im setting up a 30 gal sump and a 10 gal fuge for the 75 gal tank. i hope thats enough for it. and i
found the lion here..

http://www.saltwaterfish.com/site_1...ategory=4&category_search=61&root_parent_id=4

they're out of stock at the moment but i at least found somewhere that stocks them.

Well, it'll come and go as far as being in stock, so don't rush.

What is your plan for phosphate removal, skimmer, etc?

What is going on with the octopus tank? is that just a separate tank all together?

ya the octo tank is just an idea for now. wouldnt happen for about a year. and yes it would be a seperate tank. (cant keep em with anything else :P ), but like i said i like to plan ;) as far a phosphate removal im still looking for a solid method of doing this. the skimmer i think im gonna buy a octo needle 150 for it.

Ypu said you kept your lion w some shrimp, That fish has my eye, but I have three shrimps, so Im not willing to risk it, but... maybe after them...

i will def post pics. but again this wont be for awhile ;) gotta setup the tank first
